There are many wetlands in Tobago. The Magdalena marsh land, which has the most prolific and accessible wetland species on the island, together with the Bon Accord wetland where you can find the largest species of wetland birds are the two most well known.
Bloody Bay wetland area at the mouth of the Bloody Bay River, is a virgin wetland and houses the most extensive wetland in north east Tobago. The wetland is home to various species of birds, crabs and many other animals. It is also a hatchery for fishes, tadpoles and other water creatures. .
